A torrential rainstorm flooded the golf course overnight, stranding a few carp in shallow water on the golf course. The course was closed because of flooding, so I put on my rain boots and took a walk. I found the carp first, surrounded by Vultures. But soon, both parent eagles appeard. The carp was too heavy for the first one, so the second one flew in and grabbed it, although it had some difficulty also. I' am guessing this was the "Mom" eagle. She flew off and the babes ate a large dinner!
This is a record of my observations of Bald Eagles on the North Landing River at Honey Bee Golf Course in Virginia Beach, VA. This blog is about a new Bald Eagle pair who gained control of the nest of banded Bald Eagle "HK" following his death on September 9, 2017.

April 19. Six weeks old.
The eaglets are now about 6 weeks old. They are pretty visible at the nest if you, as the observer, are willing to put in some time and wait for an appearance. One parent is always close by.
